Bhangarh – the enchanted fort!!
Do you believe in God? Most of the people will answer with a spontaneous yes. Do you believe in ghosts? I am not sure about the true answers but the face will indeed turn pale. Now, the question is if you don’t believe in ghost then why are you scared? And if you believe in ghosts, then your fear is fair. To all the ghost lovers, I would like to suggest to explore Bhangarh fort. It is situated in Alwar district of Rajasthan. It is known as one of the most haunted place in India and Asia. It is said that Bhangarh city was ruined due to a curse but still some paranormal presence can be felt there.
According to the folklore, princess of Bhangarh named Ratnavati was very beautiful and a Tantrik (magician with black magic knowledge) was enamored by her, decided to play a trick to attract the princess towards him. One day he saw a maid was carrying the oil for princes, he spell bound the oil with his black magic knowledge so that the princess would be attracted towards him. But the princess was wise enough and at the first glance understood that the oil was enchanted. She asked the maid to throw the oil on a rock. The rock got charmed, rolled towards the Tantrik and crushed him. At the time of death, he cursed that the palace will be ruined in a day along with all the dwellers of the city. Since then, the city was destroyed. There are many more stories about the curse. It is a tourist spot but locals claim that the ruined fort is haunted and the entry before sunrise and after sunset is strictly prohibited.
Well, I recently visited Bhangarh, my experience was really magical not because of the encounter with a ghost but because of its natural beauty. Although there were many tourists at that time but the ambience was still so pure and serene. Without any essence of pollution, the sky was filled with beautiful and fluffy clouds which is none less than any magic. Unlike the preserved heritage, Bhangarh is just the relic of a marvelous palace with many enchanted & spooky stories.
Everyone must visit Bhangarh atleast once in their lifetime. Enjoy the relaxed ambience and get mesmerized with the stories. And if you are lucky enough, you might get a chance to meet a ghost as well!!!!
